R.A. the RUGGED MAN “ITALIAN TOUR”

R.A. the RUGGED MAN “ITALIAN TOUR” begins this week- additional dates in Amsterdam and Belgium

This week, I’m getting on a plane and heading to Europe. The first stop is in Amsterdam and Belgium, and then we kick off…
The 2012 R.A. The Rugged Man Italy Tour
– April 19th through April 28th – Additional dates in Amsterdam and Belgium -

HipHop keeps growing. When I was a kid I never would’a thought HipHop artists would be able to play concerts all over the world, none the less book 6 shows in Italy alone. My boy Dario hit me up and asked me if I wanted to do an entire Italian tour and I agreed. So I’m bringing the Rugged Man show back on the road and getting ready to annihilate the stage all over Italy. A lot of people don’t know this but I actually got some Italian in me, my Grandmother Josephine Orlando was a full blooded 100% Sicilian woman. Click a flyer below for more info, or see the full schedule at the bottom.

DJ Premier Is Working With Eminem

That’s right. Perhaps having Premo spin for Shady 2.0′s infamous BET Cypher rubbed off on Eminem. According to DJ Premier, speaking on Sway in the Morning, he’s headed to Detroit for some serious recording sessions with none other than Marshall Mathers.

If this actually leads to released material, this is great news for fans of Slim Shady and hip hop alike. While the MC’s lyrical skills have improved steadily over the past few years (save some lazy guests appearances), his taste in music has seemingly degraded, preferring to work with mainstream pop rap producers, rather than true beatsmiths.

Hence, Premo could be exactly what Mathers needs. Chances are we won’t hear any tracks from these sessions for months, but perhaps we finally have a reason to get excited over Eminem again.

Tupac Coachella Hologram Mastermind Explains Creation

The creators of the Tupac hologram that appeared on stage during Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's set explains how it came to be.
Fans at Coachella 2012 yesterday were shocked when a hologram of Tupac Shakur appeared on stage to perform "Hail Mary" and "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, as if he were really there in the flesh.
MTV chopped it up with Nick Smith, president of hologram creation company AV Concepts, who explained how the collaboration with Dr. Dre came to be. "We worked with Dr. Dre on this and it was Dre's vision to bring this back to life," he said. "It was his idea from the very beginning and we worked with him and his camp to utilize the technology to make it come to life."
Smith remained mum on the details regarding the mechanics of the hologram, but said that it took nearly four months to create. A typical hologram can go for anywhere between $100,000 and $400,000, but Smith wouldn't reveal how much it cost. Instead, he said that his company can recreate deceased persons and recreate them in the studio.
"You can take their likenesses and voice and ... take people that haven't done concerts before or perform music they haven't sung and digitally recreate it," he said.
